Invasive Pneumococcal Disease (IPD)
IPD is an infectious disease caused by the bacteria called “pneumococcus.” If the infection enters the bloodstream and the meninges, it can cause disability and death, especially in young children under 2 years old, as they do not yet have immunity.
When should you get the IPD vaccine?
The IPD vaccine is administered from 2 months to 5 years of age. It is recommended to consult a pediatrician before receiving the vaccine.
