Because good health is like a gift of immense value, a lack of regular care can lead to illness and serious diseases that are difficult to treat. This is especially true if family members have hereditary diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, or high blood pressure. Combined with changing environments and lifestyles—including eating habits, stress, smoking, and alcohol consumption—the risk of developing various diseases increases significantly.

Health screening is not just about blood tests or X-rays. The most important aspect of a health checkup is consulting a physician to detect abnormalities before symptoms appear or before a disease progresses, as treating diseases in their early stages yields much better results.

Preparation Before Receiving a Health Checkup

  • Fast from food for at least 8–12 hours (plain water may be consumed in normal amounts).
  • Fast from both food and water for at least 6 hours in cases involving an ultrasound.
  • Wear clothing that allows easy access for blood collection at the crook of the arm.
  • Get adequate rest, sleeping at least 6–8 hours.
  • For stool examinations (Stool Examination, Stool Occult Blood), avoid consuming meat, animal blood products, and Vitamin C for at least 3 days.
  • Women who are pregnant or suspect they may be pregnant should avoid X-rays or Mammograms.
  • Internal examinations or Cervical Cancer screenings (Pap Smear) should be performed at least 7 days after the last day of menstruation.
