Care for every respiratory problem of your little one by pediatric pulmonologists.
Chronic cough, stridor, and shortness of breath—respiratory symptoms in children should not be overlooked. Since young children’s immune systems are not yet fully developed, respiratory illnesses can occur easily, ranging from the common cold to severe inflammatory conditions such as bronchitis, bronchiolitis, and pneumonia. Prompt diagnosis and treatment can significantly reduce the risk of severe complications.
The Pediatric Pulmonology Center at Synphaet Children’s Hospital is ready to provide comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for pediatric respiratory diseases. Our team of pediatric pulmonologists works alongside a multidisciplinary medical team utilizing modern diagnostic tools to find the root cause, design treatment plans, and help children breathe at full capacity, allowing them to grow and live healthy lives.

A: RSV typically causes a large amount of thick, sticky mucus, leading to bronchiolitis and airway obstruction. Children will experience a severe cough, rapid wheezing, and much greater difficulty breathing than with a common cold. In very young infants, it can lead to respiratory failure, requiring close medical supervision.
A: Young children can catch colds several times a year. However, if there is a chronic cough, recurrent pneumonia, or frequent wheezing/shortness of breath, they should be evaluated by a pediatric pulmonologist to identify the underlying cause.
A: It could be asthma or bronchial hyperreactivity (sensitive airways). However, a detailed medical history, physical examination, and further evaluation are necessary to plan the appropriate treatment.
A: If a child snores regularly, has periods of stopped breathing, or sleeps restlessly, you should consult a doctor. This could indicate obstructive sleep apnea caused by enlarged tonsils or adenoids, which can affect growth and brain development.
