Medical Technology:

– Minimally Invasive Surgery for Total Knee Arthroplasty (MIS TKA) involves the use of small surgical tools inserted through incisions into the joint, with the interior visualized on a screen connected to a video camera, allowing for accurate diagnosis and treatment in a single procedure. The advantages include increased safety, reduced risk of infection, less postoperative pain, smaller scars, and quicker recovery.
– Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is used to detect abnormalities in various body parts. MRI operates on the principle of sending radio waves into a patient within a strong magnetic field, with the radio waves emitted by the tissues being recorded and processed to create images of the organs. MRI is advantageous because it can clearly distinguish between different tissue properties and is effective in detecting abnormalities in the early stages, which X-rays may not detect. MRI does not use harmful X-ray radiation.
