- Ovarian tumors or cysts, including endometriosis or chocolate cysts.
- Uterine fibroids (Leiomyomas).
- Ectopic pregnancy (clinically stable without shock).
- Investigation of unexplained infertility that cannot be diagnosed via physical examination or pelvic ultrasound.
- Treatment of pelvic adhesions.
Laparoscopic Surgical Procedure
- Most procedures are performed in an operating room under general anesthesia. Following the procedure, some patients can return home the same day or stay in the hospital for only 1–2 days. This is because laparoscopic surgery causes less trauma to internal organs and the abdominal wall compared to traditional open surgery (laparotomy).
- The procedure involves a small incision approximately 1 cm long below the navel. Carbon dioxide gas is introduced through a needle into the abdominal cavity to create space in the pelvis. This allows the surgeon to visualize internal organs and perform surgery using a small telescope (laparoscope) inserted through the umbilical incision.
- Depending on the surgery, 1–2 additional small incisions may be made near the pubic hairline to insert surgical instruments. Once the surgery is complete, the instruments are removed, the carbon dioxide is released from the abdomen, and all incisions are sutured.

- Less trauma to pelvic organs due to the use of specialized micro-instruments.
- Reduced trauma leads to faster recovery of internal organs, and the smaller incisions result in significantly less post-operative pain.
- Patients experience a quicker recovery compared to open abdominal surgery, allowing them to resume normal diet and daily activities much sooner.
