Laparoscopic Myomectomy and Hysterectomy Surgery Packages
Lapaoscopic Hysterectomy, Mymectomy
Laparoscopic Surgery Procedures
- Most procedures are performed in an operating room under general anesthesia. After the laparoscopy, some patients can return home immediately or stay in the hospital for only 2 nights. This is because laparoscopic surgery causes significantly less trauma to internal organs and the abdominal wall compared to traditional open abdominal surgery.
- The procedure involves a small incision of about 1 centimeter below the navel. Carbon dioxide gas is then introduced through a needle into the abdominal cavity to create space in the pelvis. This allows the surgeon to clearly see internal organs and perform surgery via a small magnifying camera inserted through the navel incision.
- Depending on the case, 1-2 additional small incisions may be made at the upper pubic hairline to insert surgical instruments for pelvic organ procedures. Once finished, the surgeon removes the instruments, releases the carbon dioxide gas, and sutures all incisions.
Advantages of Laparoscopic Surgery
- Less trauma to pelvic organs due to the use of specialized micro-surgical instruments.
- Minimal trauma leads to faster recovery of internal organs. Smaller incisions result in significantly less post-operative pain.
- Faster overall recovery compared to open surgery; patients can resume normal eating habits and daily activities much sooner.
