Gastrointestinal endoscopy for the stomach and intestines

Medical Technology

Upper abdomen ultrasound examination (Ultrasound upper abdomen) to check for abnormalities in the upper abdominal organs such as liver, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts, spleen, and kidneys
High-speed computerized tomography (CT) scan of the abdomen
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the abdomen
Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) for the diagnosis of esophagus, stomach, and upper small intestine diseases
Colonoscopy for the diagnosis and treatment of large intestine diseases, using a small, highly flexible camera similar to a finger in size. It is inserted through the rectum into the straight intestine to inspect the entire colon. The device used is called a “Colonoscope,” which has a lens that captures images and transmits them to a screen for expert physicians to interpret accurately. This procedure can also remove abnormal tissue samples for examination and excise small polyps directly through the scope. Typically, the procedure does not exceed 45 minutes, including preparation, examination, and recovery time in the room, totaling only 2-3 hours, allowing patients to return home without needing to be admitted.
