This is because laparoscopic surgery causes less trauma to internal organs and the abdominal wall compared to traditional open abdominal surgery.<\/li>\n<li>The procedure involves a small incision under the navel, approximately 1 centimeter long. Carbon dioxide gas is then introduced through a needle at the incision site into the abdominal cavity, creating space in the pelvis. This allows the surgeon to clearly see the internal organs and perform the surgery using a small magnifying telescope inserted through the umbilical incision.<\/li>\n<li>The surgeon may make 1-2 additional small incisions at the upper edge of the pubic area to insert surgical instruments to operate on the pelvic organs.
