IPD is an infectious disease caused by the bacteria known as “Pneumococcus.” If the infection enters the bloodstream or the meninges (brain lining), it can lead to permanent disability or death, particularly in young children under 2 years old who have not yet developed immunity to the disease.
When should your child receive the IPD vaccine?
The IPD vaccine can be administered starting from 2 months up to 5 years of age. It is recommended to consult a pediatrician before receiving the vaccination.
