Good health is like a precious gift. Without regular care, it can lead to illness and serious diseases that are difficult to treat. This is especially true if there are hereditary diseases in the family, such as diabetes, heart disease, or high blood pressure. Changes in the environment and lifestyle, eating habits, stress, smoking, and alcohol consumption also increase the risk of various diseases.
Health check-ups are not just about blood tests or X-rays. The most important aspect of a health check-up is seeing a doctor to detect abnormalities before symptoms appear or before the disease progresses. Early treatment is more effective.
Preparation Before a Health Check-Up
- Fast for at least 8-12 hours (you can drink water in a normal amount)
- Fast from food and water for at least 6 hours if undergoing an ultrasound
- Wear clothing that allows easy access to the arm for blood tests
- Get enough sleep, at least 6-8 hours
- If undergoing a stool examination (Stool Examination, Stool Occult Blood), avoid eating meat, animal blood products, and vitamin C for at least 3 days
- Pregnant women or those who suspect they are pregnant should avoid X-rays or mammograms
- For internal examinations or cervical cancer screenings, schedule the test at least 7 days after the last day of menstruation
